Miss Clear Lake and Her Royal Court Welcomes You!

During Clear Lake Heritage Days each summer, a new Royal Court is crowned. Our lovely, talented Miss Clear Lake Scholarship recipients become ambassadors of our proud heritage, serving the community and representing Clear Lake at local parades and events.

Clear Lake Events

Clear Lake Heritage Days is the last full weekend in June each year. But the fun doesn’t stop there! The first Saturday in June, just before Clear Lake Days, we take to our beautiful park for a Kickoff to Summer party sponsored by local businesses. At Queen for a Day, elementary-age kids can practice representing their community. In December, local businesses host a fun-filled Elf Escape, while kids young and young-at-heart visit and have brunch with Santa Day. And last but not least, a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks show which draws crowds from all over! Don’t miss our photo album.

We’re ‘Freeway Close’

Clear Lake blends wide open spaces in a beautiful country setting while being close in proximity to nearby cities. With the completion of the Somerset Super Highway (also known as State Highway 64), Clear Lake is just 35 minutes from the new St. Croix Crossings Bridge in Stillwater, Minnesota – the gateway to “the cities” – Saint Paul and Minneapolis. We are 40 miles Northwest of Menomonie, 13 miles Southwest of Saint Croix Casino and Hotel in Turtle Lake, 8 miles Southeast of Amery, and 22 miles Northeast of New Richmond.

Clear Lake has a quality school system, which offers an excellent education to our children.  We boast a rich Community Education program. Local businesses and other successful Clear Lake alumni team up to offer a High School Job Fair to help students learn from real-life experiences, and help them choose their career and education path from people they know and trust. The community further supports our schools by attending athletic events and rallying behind students – whether they have school-aged kids or not.  Go Warriors!

We Really Do Have a Clear Lake!

The Village of Clear Lake is home to a gorgeous 260 acre village park. The park includes one larger lake — Clear Lake — and two other smaller lakes — all of which have an abundant supply of small pan fish and larger big game fish.  Complete with a boat launch, swimming beach, and large, modern rest rooms, our beautiful park’s ample amenities include three covered shelters / picnic pavilions which can be reserved for large gatherings and parties, a well-maintained, modern, hosted campground which include sites with hookups for recreational vehicles (RV), motorhome, trailers and tent camping, as well as hiking paths, an archery course, horseshoe course, playground and a lighted softball field.

You’ll discover that Clear Lake offers visitors and residents big-city amenities with small-town charm. There’s an abundance of year-round indoor and outdoor recreational activities.

The village of Clear Lake, in the southeastern section of Polk County, Wisconsin, is named after the lake which lies just outside of downtown. The water in Clear Lake is supplied from living springs, which makes for very good fishing, and our swimming beach is the best around. The lake is situated near two others in a 260-acre park with a playground, picnic shelters, softball field, and modern, hosted campsites which can accommodate tents, campers and RVs.

Additionally, Clear Lake is the trailhead for a multi-use trail for recreational vehicles, ATV, UTV, snowmobiles, bicycling, hiking, cross-country skiing — to name a few. Clear Lake is home to a beautiful nine-hole golf course with dining facilities, a bar and pro shop, several coffee shops, restaurants and bars, and retail and thrift shops.

Clear Lakers are proud of our heritage. The Clear Lake Area Historical Museum is hailed as one of the finest in Wisconsin. It features priceless memorabilia from the careers of two of its favorite sons: Former U.S. Senator – and Founder of “Earth Day” – Gaylord Nelson, and Burleigh Grimes – member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Clear Lake All Veteran’s Memorial, located in the Clear Lake Cemetery, commemorates more than 1700 local veterans on six granite monuments. One monument commemorates those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.

All that fun might have you working up an appetite! Stop by for coffee and breakfast, featuring homemade Maple syrup, tapped from the trees in our very own park! Our Area Community Center, located in the historic 120-year-old, former high school building, features space for businesses to grow, as well as our community’s ‘Old School’ Thrift Shop, and a large, rentable event center.

The Village of Clear Lake is proud of their quality fire department, ambulance service and police protection. It has an excellent water supply from underground wells, a modern up-to-date sewage treatment facility, and a new municipal building including a public library.
