Clear Lake Events
Clear Lake Heritage Days is the last full weekend in June each year. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Right before Clear Lake Days, we take to the park for a Summer Kickoff party sponsored by local businesses. In the fall, we host our annual OctoberFUNfest the second weekend in October, a Progressive Holiday Stroll, a fun-filled Santa Day at our Community Center, located in the old high school building, which features space for businesses to grow, as well as our community’s ‘Old School’ Thrift Shop, and a large, rentable event center. And last but not least, a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks show which draws crowds from all over!
Don’t let the high quality commerce and beautiful country landscape fool you, the real treasure in Clear Lake are the people. Volunteerism and community go hand in hand here, and people helping people is commonplace. Whether your family has lived here for generations, or you’re just passing through, it’s hard to miss the Clear Lake nice. After all, our original slogan was “A Friendly Place with a Friendly Face.”
Clear Lake blends wide open spaces in a beautiful country setting while being close in proximity to nearby cities. With the completion of the Somerset Super Highway (also known as State Highway 64), Clear Lake is just 35 minutes from the new St. Croix Crossings Bridge in Stillwater, Minnesota – the gateway to “the cities” – Saint Paul and Minneapolis. We are 40 miles Northwest of Menomonie, 13 miles Southwest of Saint Croix Casino and Hotel in Turtle Lake, 8 miles Southeast of Amery, and 22 miles Northeast of New Richmond.
Quality Schools with Community Support
Clear Lake has a quality school system, which offers an excellent education to our children. We boast a rich Community Education program. Local businesses and other successful Clear Lake alumni team up to offer a High School Job Fair to help students learn from real-life experiences, and help them choose their career and education path from people they know and trust. The community further supports our schools by attending athletic events and rallying behind students – whether they have school-aged kids or not. Go Warriors!
We Really Do Have a Clear Lake!
The Village of Clear Lake is home to a gorgeous 260 acre village park. The park includes one larger lake — Clear Lake — and two other smaller lakes — all of which have an abundant supply of small pan fish and larger big game fish. Complete with a boat launch, swimming beach, and large, modern rest rooms, our beautiful park’s ample amenities include three covered shelters / picnic pavilions which can be reserved for large gatherings and parties, a well-maintained campground which include sites with hookups for recreational vehicles (RV), motorhome, trailers and tent camping, as well as hiking paths, an archery course, horseshoe course, playground and a lighted softball field.
So much to do in Clear Lake
Clear Lake is home to a challenging nine-hole golf course with dining facilities. Additionally, Clear Lake is the trail head for a multi-use trail for ATV/UTV and snowmobile riders. This trail can be used by hikers, runners, walkers, mountain bikes and motorcycles.
All that fun might have you working up an appetite! Stop by for coffee and breakfast, featuring homemade Maple syrup, tapped from the trees in our very own park! Or, grab a delicious pizza from one of the three pizza joints in town. Don’t miss the food and drink specials and comradery at our local watering holes. Check them all out here.

It features priceless memorabilia from the careers of two of its favorite sons: Former U.S. Senator – and Founder of “Earth Day” – Gaylord Nelson, and Burleigh Grimes – member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Clear Lake All Veteran’s Memorial, located in the Clear Lake Cemetery, commemorates more than 1700 local veterans on six granite monuments. One monument commemorates those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Clear Lake is home to a booming Industrial Park which includes a large food processing business, two large manufacturers of heavy equipment, and an industrial coating business. More than 200 more businesses call Clear Lake home. And, with room to expand, it’s a great place for growing companies and job seekers alike.
