Planning a Garage Sale in Clear Lake?
The Village of Clear Lake issues garage sale permits. If you’re planning on having a garage sale, then you should know the rules. There’s a limit of two garage sale permits per year per residence (Citywide Sales do NOT count against the 2-per-year limit).
General garage sale rules for Clear Lake (any time of year):
- all sales should be conducted between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.,
- each sale should last no more than three days.
For a complete list of Clear Lake garage sale rules, visit this link. To get a garage sale permit any time throughout the year, stop by the Village Office and fill out the form. For questions, please contact the Village of Clear Lake at 715-263-2157. Note, you don’t need a permit during Clear Lake Citywide Sales; however, you will want to contact them to get on the map.
Clear Lake Citywide Garage Sales (During Clear Lake Days)
The exception to needing a Yard Sale permit is Clear Lake Heritage Days Citywide Sales, when no permit is needed. However, you should still contact the Village to get on the Citywide Sale Map. Clear Lake Heritage Days is always the last full weekend in June. That weekend does not count against the two-sale-per-year limit, and you aren’t required to get a permit.
