June 2017 Meeting

Clear Lake Community Club Minutes  

June 5th, 2017 7:08 p.m.

President Alison Blanchard opened the meeting with 16 present.

Minutes were read. Treasurers’ report read. Balance of $13,831.50. New bank accounts are being reset up in Huntington Bank. We are not non-profit and are still listed as Clear Lake Civic & Commerce. Alison and Cindy Soderberg will look inti it and it will be resolved by Jan. 2018

Old Business:

Scholarship Committee: Lisa Duden, April Riniker, Laura Andersen and Alison Blanchard and Kristin LaBeree chose Kaysha Vinzant for $500 Community Club Scholarship.

Summer Kick-Off Event was held on June 3rd, 12-4:00pm. Budget set at $500.00.

209 signed in, with 144 being children. Received $150 in donations, food expenses $160, cord/tarp $75 and cupcakes $130

Feedback:

Needs to be one hour shorter; next year 12:00pm to 3:00pm

20 tickets were too many

Need more garbage cans

More pontoon rides

Not just candy for prizes

Prizes for fishing

Start planning earlier

Send thank you’s to businesses that participated and donated

Parking signs, a person to direct traffic

Use ticket booth

Plans for next year to include petting zoo and pony rides.

Save the date postcards were mailed but getting feedback that some people did not receive them. Why?

New business:

Clear Lake Heritage Posters:

When can they be done? By June 12th at latest. Discussed who hanging them up Royalty and candidates will be out of town. Library will take 20 and mail through their courier. How many will we order? Color or black and white? Need to work on it next year earlier

Discussions held on Clear Lake Heritage Days:

Royalty will be making their own buttons using the CL Logo provided.

Permits: Alison needs some help on getting food permits. Kristin will call county to figure on needing one permit for Community Center or one for each vendor. County camping for Carnivals.

Garbage cans need @ 30 from Waterman’s. Clean up crew who and when emptying the cans?

Motion made and approved for Tonja Roth to fix stage to make safe.

Monday night work night: 6:00pm at Derby with Firemen. Motion made and approved for pizza to be delivered.

Wednesday night work night: 6:00pm. Picnic tables hauled, tent set up, stage for tent, village will mow and weed whip. Carnival set up.

Thursday: Noah & His Band concert at 7pm in tent, Carnival Wristband. Keep in mind Lifeline Food Pantry needs access to patrons.

Friday: Citywide Garage Sale; Village Hall sign up, June Dairy Month under the tent; Laura Andersen contacting Clear Lake Auto for ice cream (ordered 300), Nextgen for milk; 550 mostly chocolate milks, Advanced Food Products for nachos & cheese; contact person is Jackie Dibble needs 3 tables, contacted Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery for donated cheese curds; 20lbs next if contact them earlier can get more and have delivered with FFA Alumni Cheese Curds –Community Club purchased crackers. Carnival Wristband, Sawdust Pile, Leona getting set up Kristin picking up and money donated by Huntington Bank, Petting Zoo, Pedal Tractor Pull; sponsored by Central Auto and Towing and Live music by The Compromise.

Saturday: Fastbreak 5K run/walk, Queens Tea, Grand Parade, Under the Tent live music-The Geezers, Derby, Coronation of new CL Royalty, and Live Music by The Weekenders.

Sunday: Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Tractor and Vintage Snowmobile Show with music by Rockman.

Monday night clean up: 6:00pm

All during Heritage Days: Medallion Hunt, Food Stands, Beer Garden, Carnival, Dunk Tank, Can Koozie sales, Clear Lake Museum open and Friends of the Library Books and Plant sale.

Need to fence beer tent? Alison will speak with our Chief of Police. Lisa and April will work on wristbands for inside tent. Ticket prices decided $1 each- one for water and pop, 3 for beer and 4 for hard Mikes and the like. 2 tickets for can Koozies.

Still need stuff to throw out at Derby

Oktober Family Fun Fest on October 14th, 11-7pm. Budget has not been approved yet. Village approved to be on Main Street. Detailed map will be drawn out at later date. Need to contact FFA Alumni for cheese curd stand, Lions will do brats, kraut and german mustard. Eddie Flanum from Kripple Kreek will provide pumpkins and mums, Pumpkin painting sponsored by Rusted Rooster, Polka Band in full dress has been contacted for around $900.00, and we will need a tent as well. We will get prices from Sign Express; have sign out at Kripple Kreek on US Highway 63. The snowmobile Club will Co-sponsor. Painted sign vendor with fall theme. Ask Brickfire, Midway, and The Cabin if offering any specials during those hours. Craft vendors 10’x 10’ for $20 and Food vendors $50 can be profit status.  Another idea is to have dunk tank with Clear Lake School teachers and staff. Need to work on marketing after Heritage Days. Ticket prices to get in suggested $30.00. Post prom parents do possible 5K, Dustin Booth Brew, Olafont Brew?

Next meeting will be July 10th Community Center Cafeteria at 7pm.
